This lovely estate coupe hails from the town of Essex, CT.

A stunning piece of Swedish Iron, it is running and driving. Aside from the driver’s seat needing TLC, you can get behind the wheel immediately. Chassis number is 1836353-006029.

Showing 33,793 miles on the odometer, with great-looking paint, this is not a project car. As mentioned, the driver’s seat needs attention. The owner has researched options for seat restoration and that information will be included with the sale of the car.

Mechanically speaking, the B20 engine with 2.0 L inline-four starts right up and works to its potential. The four-speed manual transmission featuring electric overdrive shifts properly and as expected. This rolling beauty is not only stylish, but practical. The sloped back and finned tail provide plenty of cargo space.

Miscellaneous tinkering to keep your passion alive would include: rear glass pistons need to be replaced, driver’s door opens only from the outside, piece of trim on rear bumper needs to be reattached, and there may be others. There may be other smaller weekend projects, but the guts are there, and the exterior is dazzling.

Test drives are an option on the property, which has a lengthy driveway for your full experience. I am an estate manager, selling this for a family. They are well-versed in the P1800 and are happy to respond to inquiries.

1973 P1800ES in Essex CT

1972 P1800E with automatic transmission and AC……last driven 2013. Pulled into garage for brake issue and transmission leak, never got back to it(kids/successful small business took priority). Time to give it up.

Interior redone professionally, back seats eliminated, very nice and far more useful than ridiculous back seats. Paint job was done, windows tinted, nice custom wheels put on it, points replaced with electronic ignition that works flawlessly. Some rust, front bumper kinked, no battery and for sure bad gas in it now after sitting so long.

Have many extras that need to go with it, including 2 other B20 engines I removed from 144’s i owned before finding this car…one of those engines has a manual tranny still coupled to it, both were running when removed. It will need to be trailered out, so allow for that if you want my p1800.

Loved and drove this car all around the SE for about 10 yrs as my 1st company car. Could not imagine selling it, but too old now to get back to it, so time to pass it on.

Was looking forward to this little gem being my next project car but moving out of country. I’m actually selling it and for parts.

Bought it 29 October 2017.

Motor turns over by hand and I can hear the compression inside. Car is pretty rough as you can tell but restorable or would make a good parts car.

Car rolls fine and should load up easily. The panels below the doors are where the worst of the rust is. No Title but I can provide a notarized bill of sale.

Local pick up Ventura California or buyer arranges shipping. As with any vintage item, the car is sold as is. Serious inquiries only, please.

1962 P1800 in Pasadena, CA

1964 Volvo 1800S (P1800).  Original engine.  These early cars with the buckhorn front bumpers are getting fairly scarce.

The previous owner did a lot to this car, but it was not running when I got it about eight months ago. It is now running and driving with some additional improvements. It still needs some dialing in before you can cruise more than around the block. For instance, the carbs need to be synchronized, it doesn't like to start when the weather turns cold, the new exhaust might need a heat shield under passenger floor, and the interior needs finishing. Super solid body and floors with repairs to rockers, new brakes, shocks, exhaust, fuel pump, air cleaners, and more.
