1973 Volvo P1800ES that is an unfinished restoration project that can be completed into a very enjoyable classic driver.
The car is currently finished in gold metallic with a brown interior. Paint appears recent and presents well. Interior is largely complete with the seats redone and a new headliner installed. Door panels will need to be fitted.
Mechanically the car runs well with the engine starting easily. Transmission, brakes and clutch are operational.
The underside appears solid with floors and frame in good condition. There is a small rust patch at the edge of the driver’s rear wheel opening.
Some exterior chrome trim is missing.

1973 Volvo P1800ES Runs and Drives Unfinished Restoration

This lovely estate coupe hails from the town of Essex, CT.

A stunning piece of Swedish Iron, it is running and driving. Aside from the driver’s seat needing TLC, you can get behind the wheel immediately. Chassis number is 1836353-006029.

Showing 33,793 miles on the odometer, with great-looking paint, this is not a project car. As mentioned, the driver’s seat needs attention. The owner has researched options for seat restoration and that information will be included with the sale of the car.

Mechanically speaking, the B20 engine with 2.0 L inline-four starts right up and works to its potential. The four-speed manual transmission featuring electric overdrive shifts properly and as expected. This rolling beauty is not only stylish, but practical. The sloped back and finned tail provide plenty of cargo space.

Miscellaneous tinkering to keep your passion alive would include: rear glass pistons need to be replaced, driver’s door opens only from the outside, piece of trim on rear bumper needs to be reattached, and there may be others. 1972 P1800E with automatic transmission and AC……last driven 2013. Pulled into garage for brake issue and transmission leak, never got back to it(kids/successful small business took priority). Time to give it up.

Interior redone professionally, back seats eliminated, very nice and far more useful than ridiculous back seats. Paint job was done, windows tinted, nice custom wheels put on it, points replaced with electronic ignition that works flawlessly. Some rust, front bumper kinked, no battery and for sure bad gas in it now after sitting so long.

Have many extras that need to go with it, including 2 other B20 engines I removed from 144’s i owned before finding this car…one of those engines has a manual tranny still coupled to it, both were running when removed. It will need to be trailered out, so allow for that if you want my p1800.

Loved and drove this car all around the SE for about 10 yrs as my 1st company car. Could not imagine selling it, but too old now to get back to it, so time to pass it on.

Selling this MOSTLY complete 1973 Volvo 1800 ES has the engine intact (no-tranny). Most of the interior too. definitely has rust., but considering its age pretty solid car. Not sure if the  motor cranks.
Definitely a good parts car or would need a complete and total restoration 

$1,950 it will definitely need to be towed/ hauled away.
